Our History:

Sarah Rapley opened Giggles Preschool in April 2018 with the hopes of creating a learning environment that will allow all children to feel safe and loved. With her amazing staff she has been able to do this.

Giggles Preschool is a mixed age group school that only accepts 22 children in the whole school. This allows for the older children build confidence in helping and encouraging the younger children. The younger children get the benefit of watching and mimicking the older ones.

We follow a mixed curriculum that enclouds teaching and learning strategies from a number of different teaching philosophies. We also take pride in teaching to each child’s needs and working with the parents to make sure their child gets the best start to their journey of life long learning.

What ages do we take?

We take children from 1 year to 6 years old. However we do encourage parents to try and enroll their children into “big school” for Grade R.

What teaching and learning strategies do we use?

Our main module is the National Curriculum Framework that was introduced in 2017. However Sarah has done a training course on the Swedish curriculum that we have taken a lot of inspiration from.  We have also taken some aspects from Montessori such as encouraging the children to care for their own space by helping at meal time and washing their dishes as well as working in a mixed age classroom.

Our curriculum is also adapted to meet the needs of the individual child.
